REPORTED SPEECH: ORDERS AND REQUESTS

 

 
 

Direct Speech ("Estilo Directo") se refiere a las palabras que realmente se dicen, y que, por ello, van entrecomilladas:

Peter: "I'm tired"

En Reported Speech ("Estilo Indirecto") no decimos literalmente las palabras dichas, sino el significado:

Peter says he's tired

Cuando pasamos a Reported Speech órdenes y peticiones (ya sean en afirmativo o en negativo) utilizamos el infinitivo siguiendo estas estructuras:

- En órdenes o peticiones afirmativas:

My mother said to my brother: "Please help me"

She told him to help her

- En órdenes o peticiones negativas:

The priest said to the boy: "Don't lie"

He told him not to lie

 Para practicar, responde EN VOZ ALTA cambiando de estilo directo a estilo indirecto (reported speech) de acuerdo con los ejemplos anteriores:

1- My mother said to my brother: "Please help me"

  Respuesta Correcta

2- The priest said to the boy: "Don't lie"

  Respuesta Correcta

3- The policeman said to my daughter: "Please move the car"

4- The boss said to my son: "Get out of the room"

7- The doctor said to the patient: "Exercise regularly"

8- The teacher sait to Mary: "Don't worry about making mistakes"

9- The doctor said to Paul: "Get some rest"

10- The priest said to the children: "Obey your parents"
