matemático y filósofo Blaise Pascal en el siglo XVII, se
hizo más popular tras el discurso del canciller alemán
Prince Bernhard Von Bulow en el año 1897.
En dicho discurso
afirmó: "We desire to throw no one into the shade [in
East Asia]but we also demand our place in the sun".
Con ello dejó claro su intención de conquistar más
tierras.
